His Majesty Sultan Saad Abdulrahman Bahruddin, Sultan of Dharmsalit, met with US Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell at his office in Washington during his visit to the United States last Tuesday, December 10.
According to the follow-ups of the Media Committee of the Masalit Association in the United States of America, the meeting addressed the horrific atrocities committed by the RSF against unarmed citizens that amount to acts of ethnic cleansing, genocide and grave violations of international humanitarian law that took place in El Geneina, the capital of West Darfur State, since mid-April 2023.
According to the follow-ups of the media committee of the Masalit Sons Association in the United States of America, the Sultan presented a letter containing evidence and documented proofs of the heinous crimes committed by the Rapid Support Forces, known as the Janjaweed militia, against the Sudanese citizen in general, and the citizens of West Darfur state in the city of El Geneina in particular.
The Media and Technical Committee of the Masalit Association of the United States of America confirmed in a statement that His Majesty Sultan Saad Abdul Rahman Baharaldin, Sultan of Dharmsalit, also discussed with US Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell ways to provide humanitarian aid and relief to refugees in eastern Chad who are living in poor humanitarian conditions and lack the most basic elements of life, including shelter, food and medicine.
His Majesty Sultan Saad Abdul Rahman Bahraldin, Sultan of Dharmsalit, also met with a delegation from the US Institute of Peace in Washington, where he presented the delegation with a detailed report on the atrocities committed by the Rapid Support Forces in Sudan in general and the city of El Geneina in particular, referring to the tragic situation of the population that was forced to flee from their lands to the neighboring country of Chad. For its part, the Institute’s delegation emphasized the need to find urgent ways to help those fleeing the scourge of war in Sudan.
