In the early hours of this morning, Monday, January 13, 2025, the Sudanese Armed Forces attacked areas controlled by the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) around the city of Dilling, where the two areas (Hajar Jawad and Karkraya) were attacked in a new violation of the understandings to deliver humanitarian aid to those affected in the Nuba Mountains / South Kordofan, as aid delivery operations are still ongoing in the cities of Kadugli and Jalad and are supposed to start later in other areas.
The armed forces attacked the “Jebel Nawai” area twice (September 9 and September 22, 2024), and carried out aerial bombardment on “Yabous” in New Fung on December 19, 2024. Then it attacked the “Abu Saiba” area on December 24, 2024. This is the second attack on the “Karkaraya” area, as the area was attacked in September 2024 and the oil pumping station in “Karkaraya”, which is protected by SPLA forces and the New Sudan Police, was bombed.
What the Sudanese Armed Forces are doing confirms their intention to drag the region into a full-scale war. The Popular Army is fully prepared to defend its areas of control, protect citizens, and respond to the aggression in a deterrent and decisive manner.
